Europe 2023 - Introduction

The pillow feels soft as the cool room air beckons me to pull and hug the warm covers around my body and head. The sun splashes good morning across the wall. Eyelids roll open awakening the mind to possibility. This day COVID has faded, a lover wished me well, a friend turned away, an investment sank, and I felt my heart beating 'live', 'live', 'live'. Aspirations remain including service to community, physics theories, caring for immediate family, and continuing discovery. This extended trip to Europe serves the latter and to open mental space to reflect upon a life and what remains. The journey as planned starts in Holland, cycles through Portugal, warms along the Riviera, climbs high into the Alps, shares a canal boat with family, tastes the culture of Germany, seeks the remote beauty of the Faroe Islands, and finally the fire of Iceland. The journey as completed started in Holland then Portugal, Spain, France, Monte Carlo, Annecy, England, canal boat in France, Black Forest of Germany, Turkey, Denmark, Faroe Islands, Iceland, Scotland, and finally Iceland.
