We cross-country skied from near the top of Rabbit Ears Pass to the back bowl of Steamboat Springs ski area. It was a cold calm clear day. We broke trail from mile 1.5 to about mile 5. Cross-country skied distance was 6.5 miles. We were passed there by a group of four young folks. A single skier finished while we prepared to board the chairlift saying he'd finished the route in 2 hours. We took 5 hours. The trail is weakly marked along a rolling route. We got lucky and secured a Lyft ride within 5 minutes from the ski area base to the top of the pass.
